Bertha N. “Betty” Kazlauskas, 96, a resident of the Hunt Community in Nashua since 1997, and widow of former Nashua funeral director Charles F. Kazlauskas, passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017 at her home at the Hunt Community.
A Nashua native, Betty was born on November 3, 1920, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Swakla) Wollen. She was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1938 and furthered her education at the former Nashua Business College.
Betty had been employed as a secretary at L.S. Starrett Company in Athol, Massachusetts for 27 years.
Betty and Charlie were married on July 2, 1968 at St. Casimir Church. She was associated with her husband in the operation of the Charles F. Kazlauskas Funeral Home in Nashua from 1968 to 1982.
Betty was a member of the Starrett Company 25 Year Club; and a member of the Nashua Senior Center. A communicant of the former St. Casimir Church for many years, she held membership in the St. Casimir Ladies Guild.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed flower and plant gardening and enjoyed traveling to Lithuania.
She was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, Charles F. Kazlauskas, who passed away on November 3, 1987; her sister, Mary Johnson in August 2008; and her stepson, Atty. Charles F. Kazlauskas Jr. in 2013.
Members of her family include her sister, Virginia Koughan and her husband Patrick of Riverside, CA; her step-daughters, Alyce Henchey of Woburn, MA and Helene Gustafson and her husband Gary of Hilton, NY; three step-grandchildren, Erik Gustafson and his wife Shane of Ransomville, NY, Julie Rose of Salem, MA and Rosemary Henchey of Woburn, MA; two step great-grandchildren, Caspian and Kaitlyn Gustafson; two nieces and a nephew.
Family and friends are invited to the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday morning at from 10:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Friday. We only meet once but Charlie loved you so much. We where near by and wanted to stop by to say hello only to see you pasted away. You will be missed and only wish we had know earlier about you pasting. God bless you.

Beloved Aunt Betty. Would have been there had I known in time. Had some fun times going down memory lane concerning Uncle Charlie and Mom in their younger, feisty years. Will miss you.
