Daniel P. Brooks Sr, 78, of Belmont, NH, and formerly of Nashua, husband of Maureen (Cassavaugh) Brooks, passed away on Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at Concord Regional VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Daniel was born on July 31, 1939 in Chittenden, Vermont to Kenneth H. and Elsie (Gray) Brooks. Educated in Nashua schools, Mr. Brooks was a Navy veteran, who served his country from April 1958 until his honorable discharge in April 1964. He had been employed as a technician in the electronics industry for many years and later owned and operated a television repair business.
He enjoyed playing his fiddle, listening to classical and organ music, tinkering with his electronics, going to yard sales and flea markets. Daniel especially loved being around his family and friends and also enjoyed the years he resided in Florida.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother and father Elsie and Kenneth Brooks; his son Daniel P. Brooks Jr; and a sister Beverly J. (Brooks) Hoops.
Daniel is survived by his wife Maureen of Belmont, NH; his two granddaughters, Jessica Brooks and Sarah Gagnon of Nashua, NH; his great-grandson, Kaysen Rauhala; his two sisters, Nancy R. McQuesten and her husband Charles; and Emilie Sue Levesque and her husband Thomas all of Litchfield, NH; his nieces, nephews and close friends, Ethel and Dick Woodward and Teri and Roland Robitaille of Belmont, NH .
The family will receive relatives and friends at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Saturday morning, October 14th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 11 o’clock.
