   Gloria C. (Brodeur) Plourde, 91, of Nashua, widow of Raymond P. Plourde, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017 at the Courville at Nashua.

    A lifelong resident of this city, Gloria was born on March 26, 1926, a daughter of the late C.J. Henri and Rebecca (Ravenelle) Brodeur. She was educated in Nashua schools and was a graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson.  Mrs. Plourde worked as an operator at the Telephone Company and later as a Crossing Guard and Monitor at Charlotte Avenue Elementary School for many years.

   Gloria and her husband Ray were married on Columbus Day in 1949 and made their home on Terry Street in Nashua 50 years and then resided on Bowes Circle in Hudson. The couple shared 62 wonderful years together until Ray’s passing on July 14, 2012. Being with her family was her greatest joy as she raised her son and as a loving grandmother.

   Gloria was a woman of deep faith who served as a Eucharistic minister, together with her husband, and as a compassionate volunteer at local nursing homes. She enjoyed preparing family dinners, sewing, and every minute she could spend at the beach, especially their many summers at Wells Beach in Maine.

    Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard L. and Donna V. Plourde of Nashua; three grandchildren, Joshua Plourde of San Francisco, CA, Christopher Plourde of Dallas, TX, and Rachel Smith of Nashua; a brother, Robert Brodeur of Amherst; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was also predeceased by a brother, Luc Brodeur and a sister, Henrietta Y. LaFlotte.

    Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Monday, May 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 50 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Tuesday, May 2nd at 11 a.m. Her nephew, The Rev. Scott Brodeur, will be the celebrant. Family and friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marguerite’s Place, 87 Palm St, Nashua, NH 03060 Interment will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery at a later date. Our deepest prayers and thoughts are with Ricky and the family. I remember both your wonderful and joyous parents when I was much younger and during visits of family times. To Ricky & Family I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing & so glad that she when peacefully. Just remember the great times & the laughter we all shared with her, I know I will. The memories that we shared with her will NEVER be taken away. Hold them close & no matter where u are or what u are doing, there will be something that will remind u of her & will put a smile on your face. Your Mom & Dad, my Uncle & Aunt really enjoyed the time with all of us at the Cuz'ins reunion & I am so hoping that we will see u & your family in September.
