RAYMOND, JOSEPH F.

Joseph Fernand Raymond, 87, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Thursday evening, December 14, 2017, after a period of declining health.

Born in Nashua on January 8, 1930, he was a son of the late Antoine and Irene (Pinette) Raymond. Educated in local schools, Joe enlisted in the Air Force in September of 1951 and served as Staff Sergeant during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955 and continued his service with Air Force Reserves until 1959.

Mr. Raymond began his career as a boilerman with the former Nashua Mills and continued with Sanders Associates, where he worked for 42 years as manager of plant engineering.

Fondly known by his family as “Tarz”, he was a talented handyman, who enjoyed woodworking, gardening and could fix anything. He and his wife loved traveling in their RV to New Orleans, Louisiana; and enjoyed Country/Western music.

Members of his family include his wife, Pauline E. (Jean) Raymond, whom he married at St. Patrick Church on August 18, 1956 and shared the past 61 years together; his twin daughters and their husbands, Susan and William Warrington and Sharon and Jeffrey Henderson all of Nashua; six grandchildren, Raymond Paul Jr., Kendra Paul, Tiffany Holmes and her wife Megan, Christine DeCampo and her wife Nicole, Lauren Henderson and Jill Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Mason DeCampo and Cooper Holmes; two sisters, Florence Mitchell and Constance Boucher both of Nashua; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Raymond and Patricia Raymond both of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Antoine Camil Raymond, Raoul W. “Ralph” Raymond and Arthur Raymond; his sister, Gertrude Boulanger; and brother-in-law, Donat Boucher.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Cardiac and Oncology units of St. Joseph Hospital for their excellent care and kindness.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday, December 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. Air Force Honors and interment will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Thursday. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE.
