I just learned of Julia's passing. We were friends at Purdue and after when she lived in the DC area. What a lovely, fun and kind woman! I am so sorry for your loss and hope her memory remains a blessing.

Dear Ian, Alex and Katie, I just today learned of Julia's passing. I am so sad! She was one of my first boss' after I graduated from college and came to my wedding back in Indiana. We were two Hoosier girls trying to make it in the big city of DC. However, we both also had a strong faith and love of family. Each year when I received your Christmas card, I could hear the joy in Julia's life with you and the children. She was a wonderful, warm-hearted person. I am thankful you came into her life and that she was able to have a wonderful family who loved her. I know it meant the world to her. I pray the Lord is giving you peace and flooding you with fond memories that will be so precious to you all over the years.

Ian, Alex and Katie, I just learned of Julia's passing and I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss and wanted to express my sincere condolences. Julia was always very nice to me, from the moment we started exchanging emails before I joined your family as an au pair back in 2008. She will always be dearly remembered and you are (and will be) in my heart and prayers. May our Lord bless and comfort you during this time of grief. With deepest sympathy and love, Renata Silva

Ian, Katie and Alex, while I have not met you, I had the privilege of being in a book group with your wife/mum. She hosted a lovely Christmas cookie swap for us. It brings all of us great sadness that she has passed away. Such a loss. We are praying for your family.

I feel so blessed to have been able to be part of Julia's life during her last two years with us. Throughout her transition, she stayed strong and all her prayers to God were for her children and husband. She had none for herself. May we all leave this earth with such grace and dignity. I am truly truly going to miss her.

My deepest condolences to Katie and her entire family. I would never have known that Mrs. Howell was even sick, except that Katie wrote her college application essay about her mom and their close relationship. As her senior English teacher, I had the privilege of helping Katie edit that essay, which was a loving tribute to her mom. God bless your family in your grief.
