TIRABASSI, MARY ANN

Mary Ann (Lilley) Tirabassi, age 78, passed away at D’Youville Senior Care, Lowell, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 11, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born November 14, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York to Emma V. (Moeller) and John J. Lilley II. Mary Ann attended Catholic schools for her education.  On May 18, 1958, she married Donald J. Tirabassi and they have been married for 59 years.

She was a native New Yorker and had lived in North Carolina for 18 years, before moving to New Hampshire in 2011, when her Alzheimer’s disease became more advanced and to be closer to her children and grandchildren.   She worked in several capacities including bookkeeper, accountant and a key punch operator for the following companies; Hageman Milk Company, Hebrew National Kosher Meat Products and the Ideal Toy Company.

Mary Ann had many interests and loved to bowl, make ceramics, do cooking and baking and most of all showing the love for her children, grandchildren and husband.  She was a loving wife, and an incredible mother and grandmother.

She always saw the good in everyone and was quick to forgive. She would say that people with problems deserved a second chance in life to redeem their wrong doings.  Her cheerfulness and thoughtfulness would brighten the day of those she met.

She is survived by her husband Donald, daughters Angela Napolitano, Lisa Ann Snyder and son Dennis J. Tirabassi; Angela’s husband Richard Napolitano and their three children Joseph, Christina and Dominic Napolitano; Lisa’s husband Gordon Snyder and their three children Maria, Kelly and Grant; sister Veronica George and her children Susan, Tony, Linda, Sharon and their children and grandchildren; and sister-in-law Josephine Lilly and her family. Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, John J. Lilley III.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the management staff, Nurses and CNA’s (Certified Nurses Assistants) and Volunteers at D’Youville Senior Care nursing facility for their love, and care they provide to all the residents there. Also, a special thanks to Hospice for their help and support in the closing days of Mary Ann’s life.

Dear Don and family, I was blessed to sing for Mary Ann at both Langdon Place and D'Youville. I will forever think of you both whenever I sing a John Denver song, especially Annie's Song. The love you have for her was clear, and she knows she was loved. Hugs to your entire family. I miss her too. :(

Don and family, Our sympathies are with you and your family members. Over the last year, we have watched you give loving care to Mary Ann at D'Youville Senior Care. Every time we visited our mothers at the center, we would see you with Mary Ann and marveled at the love you showed to her. She is at peace now and looking down upon her family with her beautiful smile. Our prayers are with you and your daughters at this sad time. Dick and Linda Matte Lovell, Maine

Don: My sincere sympathy on the passing of Mary Ann. I remember all the good laughs we had while you and Mary Ann lived "up the street on North Carolina Drive". She was good fun and I enjoyed her company. May she rest in peace. The Lord giveth and taketh, but grant eternal peace.

Don - so sorry on your loss. I think of you often - I still have your computer and sometimes your name pops up. I now live in Oregon and love it. I know that this has been a hard journey for you and the loss of your Beloved Mary Ann will leave a big hole in your heart and life.
