Mildred May (York) Tessier, 73, of Hudson, NH, wife of Donald R. Tessier, passed away Wednesday evening, February 8, 2017 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a long illness.
A daughter of the late Richard Morris and Mildred May (Fenoff) York, “Millie” was born in Nashua on July 27, 1943. She was educated in the Nashua and Hudson school systems. She was a homemaker, worked at Teledyne for many years, and was a caregiver for many children.
Millie was a devoted wife, outstanding mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a people person who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved her cats, Boots, Mittens, Angel, Princess, Leo 1 and Leo 2.
Hobbies that she loved were camping, cruising in their 1954 Mercury, collecting dolls, cooking, crossword puzzles, and playing games on her ipad with her grandchildren. She especially loved holidays for the chance to be with all of her family and was always in the center of attention during small family gatherings.
Members of her family include her husband Donald “Ducky”, whom she married in 1962 (this year would have been 55 years). They were childhood sweethearts since she was 9 years old. She leaves behind a daughter, Robin Joy (Tessier) Sevigny; a son, Donald John Tessier; son-in-law Richard Sevigny and a daughter-in-law Paula Anne (Civetti) Tessier; four grandchildren, Donald Joseph Tessier, Amanda Ashley (Tessier) Michaud, Sarah Anne Sevigny, Richard Douglas Sevigny and Mike Michaud; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Haley Michaud; a brother, Richard Morris York Jr. of Portsmouth; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Muriel and Armand Lagasse, Paul and Rita Tessier, Doris and Ronnie Fontain and Dennis and Margie Tessier; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Millie was also predeceased by a loving brother, Jesse L. York; a sister, Patricia York; and beloved sister-in-law, Barbara York.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, February 14th from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. The Rev. Deacon John J. Martin will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Family and friends are invited to attend. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph Hospital Oncology Department, 172 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. I have many wonderful memories . She always loved a good card game and a good cup of coffee . Her turkey salad is the best !! She was a wonderful godmother to my son Griffin . Millie has such a big heart. She will be missed.
