Rita Andrea Parent, 84, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Wednesday evening, April 20, 2016 at the Courville at Nashua after a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Leo S. and Andrea V. (Rodier) Parent, she was born in Nashua on July 26, 1931. Rita resided on King Street in the Crown Hill neighborhood of this city for many years. She graduated from Sacred Heart School of St. Patrick’s Parish in 1945 and Nashua High School Class of 1948.
Rita trained and worked as an X-ray technician until she retired in 1994. She worked for various hospitals and other institutions in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York.
In her leisure time, Rita enjoyed trips to the beach, loved music and singing, solving crossword puzzles, watching TV and walking in her neighborhood. She especially loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and her grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
Members of her family include her nieces and nephews, Michael Marcsisin and his wife Heather Conrad of Pittsburgh, PA, Renee Marcsisin and her husband Jason Rogers of Castro Valley, CA, Lara Gibson and her husband Philip of Concord, MA, and Sean Marcsisin and his wife Ellen of Annandale, VA; grandnephews and grandnieces, Logan, Holden and Riley Marcsisin; Madeline, Colin and Emily Gibson; and Nora Marcisin; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her sister, Barbara M. Marcsisin who passed away April 21, 2011.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson.
