Mildred M. York, 98, of Nashua, widow of Richard M. York, passed away Sunday morning, May 15, 2016 at Kindred – Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare in Nashua.
Mrs. York was born in Littleton, NH on August 8, 1917, one of nine children of the late Frank and Elsie Fenoff. She resided in Littleton during her youth and was educated there. A homemaker to her family, Mildred also worked at the former Nashua Plastics for many years.
In her leisure time she enjoyed baking Wedding cakes; was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. A devoted mother and grandmother, Mildred especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed auto racing.
Mildred and her husband Richard were married in 1941 and made their home in Nashua, Hudson and Litchfield until his passing on November 28, 1983. After her husband’s death, Mildred resided in Hudson with her daughter and son-in-law, Millie and Donald Tessier for 32 years.
Members of her family include a son, Richard M. York Jr. of Portsmouth, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Donald R. Tessier of Hudson; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mildred was predeceased by a daughter Patricia York; a son Jesse York; four brothers, Edward, Buster, Albert and Kenneth Fenoff; and four sisters, Ethel Fay, Pauline Mooney, Elvina Pinet and Dorothy Gamble

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Milford.
