Herbert H. Ouellette, 92, of Nashua, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 20, 2016 surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of this city, Herbert was born on September 24, 1923, a son of the late Henry and Agnes Ouellette. A Navy veteran, Herbert served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He was employed as a Tool & Die maker with Sanders Associates, retiring after 30 years of service.
Herbert was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful furniture and bowls for his family and friends. He was a talented artist and was a founding member of the Nashua Artist’s Association.
Members of his family include his beloved wife of 71 years, Sophie (Goy) Ouellette; five children, Ann Mercier and her husband Normand, Glenn Ouellette and his wife Martha, Martha Cudd and her husband George, Elizabeth Elwarner and her husband Charles, and John Ouellette. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Rita Roy and his brother, Robert Ouellette.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Tuesday June 28th at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
