Deana Joanne Walker, 46, of Burlington, VT and formerly of Nashua, beloved wife of Richard B. Walker Sr and devoted mother to her children Rickie and Mary, passed away Thursday morning, August 25, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
The only daughter of Donald J. and Joanna E. (Anzalone) Cardinale of Nashua, she was born in Malden, Massachusetts on July 3, 1970. Deana grew up in Nashua and attended Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson and graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1988. She furthered her education at Rivier University where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology.
Deana and her husband Ric were married in 1989 and they made their home in several locations during his military career before making their home in Vermont. Deana served as the key spouse (military family advocate).
In her leisure time, Deana enjoyed playing softball, movies, her Red Sox, trips to Disneyworld or the beach, and spending time with her family and pets; She was a member of the Dormition of The Theotokos Orthodox Church of Concord, NH where she was best known to her church family as Hannah.
Members of her family include her husband Richard Sr, with whom she shared the past 27 years; her children, Richard B. Walker Jr. and Mary Lydia Arlene Walker both of Burlington, VT; her parents, Donald J. and Joanna Elizabeth Cardinale of Nashua; two brothers, Donald A. Cardinale of Nashua and his fiancée, Erika of Saratoga, NY and David A. Cardinale and his wife Sarah of Amherst; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Margie (Terrin) Walker of Lincoln, ME; brother-in-law, Timothy S. Walker; nieces, Sonia and Alexis Walker, and Irene Cardinale; also aunts, uncles and cousins. Deana was predeceased by her German Shepherd dog “Vader”.

Calling hours will be held at St. Mark of Ephesus Orthodox Cathedral, 340 Clapboard Tree Street, Westwood, MA, Monday evening, August 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will also be held in St. Mark’s, Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock followed by interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
