Therese Claire Desautels, 88, of Nashua, widow of Napoleon J. Desautels, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2015 at the Community Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
A Nashua native, Therese was born on April 25, 1927 daughter of the late Odilon and Ada (Deragon) Belanger. She grew up in the French Hill neighborhood of this city and graduated from the former St. Francis Xavier School. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and the former St. Francis Xavier Church for most of her life until the church closed in 2003.
Therese was a homemaker and a woman of strong faith. She devoted her life to her family and will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, spending time with her family, and was an avid animal lover.
Therese was predeceased by her husband of twenty five years, Napoleon J. “Frenchy” Desautels who died September 25, 1978; her brothers, Patrick and Julien Belanger; and a sister, Lilly Margaret Belanger.
Members of her family include her four children, Nancy Savage and her husband Carl of Nashua, Patrick Desautels of Nashua, Linda Gendron and her husband Tom of Goffstown and Lisa Desautels of Waterville, ME; six grandchildren, Shaun Savage and his wife Michelle, Adam Savage and his wife Heather, Carrie Savage and her husband Eddie Diaz, Amanda Roy and her fiancée Pete Ruokis, Abby Gendron and Cassandra Desautels and her fiancée Cory Vachon; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Aviana and Ava Savage; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
