Ronald Edward Shepherd, 67, of Hudson, passed away early Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a long period of declining health.
A resident of Hudson for most of his life, Ron was born in Nashua on August 17, 1949, son of Marcelle (Monet) Shepherd Sloan and the late Edward C. Shepherd. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Cheryl (Houle) Shepherd; and his step-mother, Dorothy C. (Holt) Shepherd. He was educated in Hudson schools and attended Alvirne High School. Ron had been employed as a fabricator in the fiberglass industry for several years. In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed hunting, target shooting and was a talented artist.
Members of his family include his mother, Marcelle Sloan of Connecticut; two sons and their wives, Todd and Amy Shepherd of Newark, NJ and Keith and Dawn Shepherd of Derry, NH; two grandchildren, Logan and Natalie Shepherd; two sisters and their husbands, Jean and Robert Deleon of Waterbury, CT and Linda and Frank Jarek of Hudson, NH; a brother and his wife, Michael and Kathy Sloan of Oakville, CT; step-brother and his wife, William and Martha Maxfield of Virginia; step-sister, Ruth Butler of Nashua; close friends, Bert Masse Sr. of Pelham and David Laughran of Vermont; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery in Hudson at a later date.
