Phyllis A. Pinksten, 80, of Nashua, widow of Robert William Pinksten, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Pinksten was born in Malden, Massachusetts on June 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Trevett) Shepardson. Educated in Malden schools, she was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1955.

Phyllis and her husband Bob were married on November 25, 1959 and resided in Chelsea, MA for a time before moving to Nashua in 1967. The couple shared 36 years together until his passing on August 13, 1996.

She had been employed with the Nashua School Department as a secretary at the Charlotte Avenue Elementary School, where she was well loved for 35 years, retiring in October 2010.

Phyllis loved volunteering on several causes with her fellow residents of Davidson Landing in Nashua. She enjoyed parades; football; and baseball fan of the Boston Red Sox. She also loved her granddogs very much.

Members of her family include two sons, Mark William Pinksten and his children, Molly Jane and Robert Wilson and their mother, Beth (Durham) Pinksten; and Paul Ernest Pinksten; her sisters, Judy (Shepardson) Lyons and Roberta (Shepardson) Lombard; her brother-in-law, Charles Pinksten; her nieces and nephews; her extended family and all her friends at Davidson Landing.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Saturday afternoon, July 15th from 2 to 4 p.m.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have wonderful memories of your mom during my years at Charlotte Ave. She was a kind, compassionate woman who was so proud of her boys. May you find peace in your memories.
