Ronald R. Mason, 79, of Londonderry and well-known businessman, passed away Wednesday morning, November 29, 2017 in Bedford, NH after a brief illness.
Ron was born in Whitefield, NH on May 28, 1938 to the late Leola A. (Sanborn) and Rodney R. Mason. He graduated from Nashua High School in the Class of 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 and worked for Interstate Uniforms at Grenier Field. Ron then went on to start a business called Tri City Chemical and later opened his own painting business, Anderson Painting. Ron and his wife for a short time engaged in a business, Merrimack River Canoe Trips in the early 1980s. He also founded Seal Tec Asphalt Coatings and worked there until his retirement. Ron also volunteered with the Litchfield Fire Department as a firefighter and Chief.
In his free time, Ron enjoyed going hunting in Jackman, Maine, loved traveling with his wife and enjoyed his home in Londonderry.
He is survived by his children, Scott Mason of Litchfield, Steven and Chantal Mason of Litchfield, Debra D. Whitney and Patrick Higley of Goffstown, and Tina and Robert Saulnier of Laconia; daughter-in-law, Irene Mason of Litchfield; his grandchildren, Ryan Whitney, Adam and Bradley Saulnier, and Dillon and Brandon Mason; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy L. & Brett Rand of Epsom; his sister-in-laws, Robyn Olson of Derry, and Vivian and her husband William Balam of Milford; a brother-in-law, Lawrence E. Olson Jr of Litchfield; his niece Megan Meagher and her husband William; and his best friend, David Cook of Litchfield. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his wife Wahneeta Darlene (Olson) Mason on February 1, 2009. They were married on July 5, 1959 and shared nearly 50 years together.
SERVICES: His Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at the Litchfield Presbyterian Church, 259 Charles Bancroft Highway, Litchfield. A reception and celebration of life will follow the service at the California Room, 290 Derry Road in Hudson. Friends are invited to attend.
