Charles Frederick Ingham, 78, of Afton, Oklahoma and formerly of Nashua, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, after a period of declining health.
A resident of Oklahoma for the past 15 years, Charlie was born in Boston, MA on September 28, 1939, a son of the late Frederick D. and Emily I. (Gault) Ingham. He was educated in local schools and served with the Navy during the Korean War as a Signals-man.
Mr. Ingham was a mason and machinist by trade and had been employed with Fletcher’s Granite for several years and later worked as a bartender in Oklahoma.
In his leisure time, Charlie enjoyed woodworking and Turkey shooting. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Louise (Williams) Ingham, who passed away May 28, 2013. They were married on March 9, 1963 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Members of his family include his son and daughter-in-law, Charles F. Jr. and Karen Ingham of Nashua; a granddaughter, Brandi Ingham of Londonderry; two sisters, Anna Holly of Southwest City, MO and Gertrude “Liz” Starrett of Goodman, MO; sister-in-law, Rhonda Ingham of Anderson, MO; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Charlie was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Ingham; and a brother-in-law, Reed Holly.
