William J. Martin Jr., 76, of Nashua, formerly of Everett, MA, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
A resident of Nashua since 1976, Mr. Martin was born in Everett, Massachusetts on November 12, 1938, a son of the late William J. and Sara J. (Kearney) Martin. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Ada (Donahue) Martin; a son, William J. Martin III; and a brother, Leo Martin.
“Bill” was educated in Everett schools and furthered his education at the University of New Hampshire’s School of Life Long Learning. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.
Mr. Martin had been employed with Digital Equipment Corporation for 19 years and then worked as a senior technical writer for many companies.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed reading and computers in his leisure time.
Members of his family include his wife of 48 years, Mary L (Francoeur) Martin of Nashua; his. children, Allan M.Martin and Dee Dee J. Martin; four grandchildren, Allan, Matthew, Ashleigh and Nicole; and four great-grandchildren, Lisa Marie, William, Grayson and Angelina.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday, June 22nd from 3 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church.
