Harry A. Larchian, 93, of Vespa Lane, Nashua, died on Saturday morning, September 22, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
A first generation American, Mr. Larchian was born on January 28, 1925, in Chelsea Massachusetts, son of the late Aram and Payloon (Nercessian) Larchian, who emigrated from Armenia to the United States. The second of four siblings, Mr. Larchian spent his childhood in Lewiston, Maine. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1948.
A resident of Nashua since 1954, Mr. Larchian spent his career at Nashua Federal Savings and Loan, where he served as a mortgage officer for 36 years, retiring as a Vice President in 1991.
He is a past President of the Civitan Club of Nashua, and a former Treasurer of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He also served on the Pennichuck Area Homeowners Association and the NH Chapter (103) of the Savings and Loan Financial Institute.
Following his retirement, Mr. Larchian enjoyed spending time with friends and family, as well as continuing his longstanding creative pursuits, including cartooning photography, and water-color painting.
Mr. Larchian is predeceased by two wives, Theresa (Boghigian) Larchian and Elizabeth “Betsy” (Carter) Larchian; two brothers, George and Aram Larchian; and a sister, Virginia Klijian.
He is survived by his children, William A. Larchian MD, and his wife, Priscilla of Cleveland, OH; Christine E. Larchian and her husband, Nicholas DeSantis, and Katherine V. Larchian and her husband, Marco Perry of Brooklyn, NY; and David C. Larchian of Nashua, NH; as well as seven grandchildren: Will, Tess, Peter, Harry, Carter, Mia, and Jacob; and many loving nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street., Nashua, on Friday September 28th from 4:00 – 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St., Nashua, on Saturday afternoon, September 29th at 3:30pm.
