Maurice J. “Moe” Demarais, 63, of Hollis and formerly of Nashua, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 from injuries sustained in a automobile accident in Nashua on October 31st.
Born in Nashua on September 13, 1955, he was a son of the late Raymond and Jeannette (LaFontaine) Demarais. Moe was educated in local schools and attended Nashua High School. An Army veteran, Moe served a tour of duty near the end of the Vietnam War from November 29, 1973 until his honorable discharge on November 26, 1976.
Moe had been employed as an assembler at Astronics Aero Sat Corporation of Hooksett, NH. An active outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Members of his family include a brother and sister-in-law, George and Judy Demarais of Derry; two sisters, Linda Locke of Hudson and Theresa Kyrousis and her husband Bill of Walpole; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Moe was also predeceased by a brother, Ronald Demarais of Colorado.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday, November 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 50 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment and Army Honors will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at 12:30 p.m. Friends are invited to attend. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
