My brother Joe was a kind man. I do not remember him ever saying an unkind word about anyone. When we were growing up we had a cat but the cat loved Joe more than any of us. I remember when he was going into the service he walked into the kitchen to say goodbye and in his hand he had a small duffle bag . He gave mom a hug and the cat was sitting at his feet, he opened the bag and said to the cat do you want to come with me? The cat jumped into the bag. The cat would not eat when Joe left and I do not remember what happened to the cat. The cat was an orange cat named RED. I will miss you Joe

Hello to anyone reading this. Joe Bishop was my grandfather. Or as he always signed his cards, “grampy joe”. I was fortunate enough to visit with him in October of this year, just prior to his rapid decline. I am blessed to have had this man as a grandpa. He was such a happy, caring man and I know he loved his family. You could always tell how proud he was of each and every one of his family members. Prior to moving to Florida, when I was a very young kid, grampy joe and I shared many times together, swimming in the pool, driving around town, putting puzzles together and of course the occasional scratch off ticket. My heart hurts that he is no longer here, however I will keep him in my heart and in my memories.
