Peter Martin Ulcickas

September 12, 2015
Ulcickas, Peter M.

Peter Martin Ulcickas died peacefully in his home on September 12th. He was 78 years old and a lifetime resident of New Hampshire. The descendant of Lithuanian immigrants, Peter was passionate about hard work and family. His motto was, “If you do something, do it right!” It was a motto he adhered to in everything he did.

Peter married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Naceski) Ulcickas, also a descendant of Lithuanian immigrants, in 1963. It is impossible to describe the depth of their bond with, and love for, each other. They were rarely seen apart. He adored her and she was with him until his last breath.

Peter loved his children, Marianne and John, and son-in-law Steve, and was a dedicated father.  This strong and steadfast love that Peter had for his wife and children was matched only by the extraordinary love he felt for his grandchildren. His grandchildren changed his name to Bumpa; that’s what they decided to call him, and that’s what he called himself for the rest of his life. His dedication, devotion and pure love for Katherine, Hannah, Samuel (who predeceased him), Joshua and Alex cannot be put into words. He was so thrilled to have this legacy, teach these children, and pass along his message of hard work and family. He just loved hugging them, and his face lit up whenever he saw them, even during his last days.

He will be deeply missed by his entire family, including his brothers Simon and Frank and sisters- in-law Roberta and Candace, in addition to his niece and nephews who went clam-digging and fishing with him at the beach house, and Teresa who was always there for him. He was also blessed with many friends, who will miss him greatly. He leaves behind many, many wonderful memories.

Peter had passion, loyalty and love that he has passed on to all who knew him. His legacy will last forever, for generations to come.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street Nashua, NH on Friday September 18th at 9:45 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Ledge Road in Hudson, NH.
