Jameson, Gary W. Jr.

After a long, courageous and brave sixteen-month battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer, we are saddened to announce that Gary W. Jameson, Jr., age 28, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family February 15th, 2019.

Gary loved with all his heart, and was loved by so many leaving a lasting impression on whomever he met. Gary had an energy that radiated and his charismatic charm set him apart from the rest. He was known for giving the best hugs and always keeping you on your toes waiting for the next opportunity to joke. With all that Gary endured he always made sure to see the positive side of things and refused to give up. You could be assured that when the Celtics were playing, Gary was watching and rooting them on. What Gary enjoyed most was gaming with his brother Jesse, best friend Derek Rose and his online buddies. The one thing that Gary appreciated more than anything was spending as much time as he could with his family and his friends.

Gary graduated Merrimack High School, class of 2009 where he played on the basketball and varsity football teams. Gary later attended Nashua Community College where he played basketball on the school team, donated his time to Habitat for Humanity and earned an associate degree in science for Business Administration with a concentration of accounting in 2014.

Gary’s family includes his loving parents, Gary W. Sr. and & Beatrice “Penny” (Poliquin) Jameson; loving sister Andrea Jameson Alexander & her significant other Richard Wright & their daughter Brooklyn; loving sister Kelly Jameson & her significant other, Dana Dellacroce; loving brother and best friend Jesse Jameson; and maternal grandmother, Beatrice Poliquin.  Gary is also survived by an amazing support system including his Aunt Cindy Schultz & husband Don, Aunt Tammy Dobens & husband Dave, Aunt Michelle “Missy” West & husband Jim, Aunt Linda Halvatzes & husband Tony; Uncle, Bill Ottman. Loyal cousins, Tim Schultz, and his wife Hannah, Brian Mall, John Mall, Alyssa. & Caroline Dobens, Nicole, Tyler & Brendan West, Caitlin Hurley & her husband Andrew, Amy Leigh Mercree, and TJ Halvatzes & wife Jenna. Gary also leaves behind his cousins’ children, “Gary’s Girl” Leah Schultz, Evan Mall, Isabella Mall and Scarlett Hurley; great aunts, great uncles, numerous friends and teammates, and his cats, Sal & Pumpkin.

Gary is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Alfred Poliquin, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Dolly “Colorbook Grammy” Jameson and Clarence T. Jameson; maternal great grandparents, Simone and Alfred Poliquin Sr.; special uncle, Alfred Poliquin III; uncle, Danny Jameson; aunt, Jeanne Ottman.

Gary’s family extends their heartfelt thanks and love to the health-care professionals at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon NH I West, for their care and commitment to Gary for over the past 16 months. You all will hold a special place in our hearts for all that you did for Gary and continue to do for us.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Wednesday, February 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.  Plans for a celebration of life gathering will be announced at his service.

Gary’s family would appreciate donations to the 2019 Prouty which benefits cancer research and patient supportive services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center where Gary was receiving his treatments. Gary donated his time and energy to the 2018 Prouty during one of his extended hospital stays and our family is committed to donating our time, this year in his honor. Jameson Family, I'm truly sorry for your loss, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Gary or your family, but from what I have heard through our Aimco family and his obituary, Gary sounds like someone I would of liked a lot and I'm sorry I never had to pleasure of meeting him. My heart goes out to you and hope you find some comfort in knowing Gary is in a better place and hopefully playing video games and happy joking around with loved ones.

To the Jameson Family, I had the great joy of meeting Gary at NCC. He was a stellar student and an amazing athlete. I had the time of my life announcing the NCC basketball games for the teams and Gary was a standout star who’s name I announced over and over again during games. I will never forget his smile he would shoot towards the bench after making a play or a shot that left the crowd going wild. No matter what, the gymnasium will always echo his name and to this day I can still hear the crowd going crazy after I would announce his name. I was extremely lucky to have met Gary and I will never forget the impression he left on me and his peers of being a true leader and most of all friend of everyone. Thank you for letting Gary be a part of my life..

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I'm reaching out with some encouragement as I too have lost many loved ones in death. One thing that has helped me to cope many times is a promise made by Jesus Christ. He talked about a resurrection of the dead in a Paradise Earth where all of us will see our loved ones again! Jesus promises in John 5:28, 29: “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” The prophet Isaiah also spoke of future world conditions under God’s Kingdom rule that are very exciting. At Isaiah 33:24, it says that “no resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” I lost my grandmother to cancer and this scripture has been close to my heart always. I hope these verses comfort you as they have comforted me. My heart and prayers go out to you. Below is a link to a very encouraging Bible-based brochure entitled, When Someone You Love Dies. Please use your personal Bible with this brochure as you read it in the months ahead. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/when-someone-dies/ Deepest Sympathies, Izzy
