Elizabeth “Beth” Keegan, 58, of Nashua, NH passed away on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH. Elizabeth was born on June 2, 1960 in Boston, MA to John and Barbara (Landers) Keegan. She was one of four children: John F. Keegan; Paul G Keegan; and Brendan P. Keegan. She graduated Mount Hope School in 1978, a school for special needs children founded in part by her parents. She started her career with the People Learning Useful Skills (PLUS) company in 1979 working for Calcomp Corporation and Benchmark International and retired in 2011 after 32 years of impeccable service.
Beth was a beloved person by so many, helping people across Nashua recognize the power of unconditional love and the ability to live life with pure happiness. She was an active parishioner of St. Christopher’s Church serving as a Eucharist Minister, alter server, member of the bell ringing ensemble and founding member of Special Friends. Special Friends of St. Christopher’s was a group founded by Beth’s parents and her brother Brendan that provided hundreds of young adults born with disabilities a lifetime of educational and spiritual enrichment. Beth competed in the New Hampshire Special Olympics winning a gold medal in equestrian dressage. Beth was an avid Boston sports fan following the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox, and had a lifetime crush on Jim Rice. Beth will be remembered for her incredible hugs, sunny smile and for always making those around her better and stronger.
She is survived by her brother John F. Keegan and his husband Michael McFayden of Washington D.C.; brother Paul G. Keegan of Annapolis, Maryland; brother Brendan P. Keegan and his wife, Dana A. Keegan of Nashua; nieces and nephews Veronica (Keegan) and her husband Technical Sergeant Edward Santoro, Justin Keegan, Kaylie A. Keegan, B. Patrick Keegan; and two great nieces Allegra Santoro and Nora Santoro.
The family would like to thank the excellent staff of Gateways Community Services, Independent Services Network and a special thank you to Beth’s extended family John, Ann, Paul, David and Precious Njogu. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:00 am at St. Christopher’s Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, with burial to follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua along with a celebration of her life.
