Joseph Raymond Haerinck, 78, of Nashua, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 9, 2019 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of this city, “Ray” was born on April 20, 1941, a son of the late Camille and Auxilla (Dion) Haerinck. He was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1959 and served with the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. Ray had been employed in the toner department of Nashua Corporation for many years.
On April 27, 1963, Ray married Maria Mercedes Caltagirone of Kenitra Morocco. The couple made their home in Nashua and shared nearly 43 years together until her passing on March 22, 2006.
In his leisure time, Ray loved to bowl on the family team and was a huge Boston Red Sox fan.
Members of his family include his daughters and their husbands, Catherine and Harry Guay, and Caroline and Alexander Mitiaev; six grandchildren, Tracy Ann Pohl and her husband Lee, Krystal King, Kelly Lee King, Chelsea Eichler Taylor and her husband Matthew, Ronny Eichler III and Josie Marie Eichler; nine great-grandchildren, Mercedes Doyle, Cole Doyle, Nataylia Pohl, Jayson Pohl, Julian Frank, Brooklyn Duval, Ryan Hutchins, Jayden Menendez and Caleb Hutchins; his significant other, Annette Fairbanks; a brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Jean Haerinck; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was predeceased by an infant brother and three other brothers, George, Theophile and Robert Haerinck; and two sisters, Valerie Soccio and Camilla Nevue.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday evening, May 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Route 101A in Merrimack, Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Nashua. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church.
