Philip Steven Geer, 69, of Nashua, formerly of South Merrimack and Keene, passed away Monday afternoon, May 13, 2019 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health.      

    Born in Nashua on April 19, 1950, he was a son of the late H. Luther and Arlene (Marshall) Geer. Phil was educated in local schools and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1969, and played on the Purple Panthers Hockey Team.     

   Mr. Geer had been employed in research and development of pharmaceuticals for Hampshire Chemical, Dow Chemical and W.R. Grace in Nashua and later with Pharmeco of Andover, Massachusetts.

    An active sportsman, Phil enjoyed golf and skiing and fan of the New England sports teams.

    Phil was predeceased by his wife, Penelope L. “Penny” (Mack) Geer, who passed away December 24, 2007. They were married August 26, 1978 and shared 29 years together.

    Members of his family include his three children, Timothy Jay Geer of Virginia, Bethany Jill Duhaime and her husband Greg of Keene and Carly Jo Geer of Chicago, IL; two grandsons; two brothers, Bruce M. Geer and his wife Patricia of Hudson and Donald T. Geer and his partner Carolann of Nashua; a sister, Elizabeth F. “Beth” Grenier and her husband Kenneth of Leominster, MA; a sister-in-law, Judith A. (Holt) Geer of Hudson, widow of David G. Geer who passed away in 2008; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael Mack and his wife Kelley, Lori Gilcreast and her husband Wally, Robert Mack and his wife Sue, all of Nashua; and Gina Richards of Manchester; also nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who called him “Pops.”

    Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Sunday, May 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. A Graveside Service will take place in Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street, Nashua, Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the cemetery. The Rev. Deacon John J. Martin, will officiate. Donations may be made in his memory to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association of America.

Phil, you were the best big brother. A kid could ever have. We had so many great times together growing up. I was so lucky to have you as a role model and friend. I will always cherish our days on the golf course, ski slopes, house renovations. Good times! I will miss you, brother.❤️
