Mary E. (Colletta) Dirubbo, 91, of Nashua, widow of Ralph T. “Ted” Dirubbo, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2019 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.        

   Mrs. Dirubbo was born in Milford on March 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Reveane) Colletta. She and her family moved to the French Hill neighborhood of Nashua in 1935. Mary was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1946.  

   Mary began her career as secretary to the director of nursing at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.  She then worked at the former Hammar Hardware at the store in Railroad Square and then on Amherst Street as an accounts receivable clerk for over 25 years.     

   She loved music and attended many concerts and parades. Mary also enjoyed knitting, baking and going on walks with the Mine Falls Seniors. An avid Boston sports fan, Mary especially enjoyed summers at Wells, Maine for 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.

    Mary and her husband “Ted” were married September 1, 1951 and shared 61 wonderful years together until his passing on December 3, 2012. She was also predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael K. and Karon J. Dirubbo; her sister, Rita Dulgarian; and her sister-in-law, Doris R. Colletta.

    Members of her family include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen B. and Daniel Cronin; two grandchildren, Kaitlin E. Cronin and Ryan D. Cronin; her brother, Charles T. Colletta, all of Nashua; her brother-in-law, John Dulgarian of Tewksbury, MA; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.    

   Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, on Monday, October 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Milford. Friends are invited to attend and are asked to gather at the church. Donations may be made in her memory to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to Corpus Christi Food Pantry, 3 Crown Street, Nashua, NH 03060.

I am so saddened to learn of this. Mary was always so kind and considerate to my family. I have fond memories of her over the many years we were neighbors. My deepest condolences to her daughter Kathy and her family, to her brother Charlie and the extended family. God Bless.

Mary was a good friend I have known my entire life. Though our contacts were few, I was always greeted with a smile and a hug. She will be missed but not forgotten. God Bless
