Carl E. “Skip” Carr, Jr.

  Carl E. “Skip” Carr, Jr., 74, of Nashua, passed away Thursday evening, February 13, 2020 at Greenbriar Healthcare after a period of declining health.       

   A longtime Nashua resident, Skip was born in Gardiner, Maine on August 12, 1945, a son of the late Carl E. and Vivian A. (Morrell) Carr.

   Educated in the Nashua School System, Skip had been employed at the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company and later worked for Blacky’s Taxi Service as a cab driver and maintenance of the automotive fleet.

    Skip was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nashua and was active in the Men’s Fellowship. Earlier in his life, he was an active with the Nashua Jaycees. In his leisure time, Skip enjoyed Candlepin bowling.

    Members of his family include his wife, Eleanor M. “Ellie” (Bonney) Carr, whom he married on April 21, 1973 and shared over 46 years together; a daughter, Lois  Mason of North Dakota; four grandchildren, Hans M. Carr of San Antonio, TX, Randall Mason of North Dakota, Kitara R. Mason of Nashua and Adalia Star Mason of San Antonio, TX; a great-grandchild, Sydney Maille; three sisters, Carol E. Jaworski of Florida, Kay M. Hannah and her husband Walter of Nashua, and Sheila M. Berg and her husband Mark of Portland, ME; also numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

    There are no calling hours. His funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 121 Manchester Street, Nashua, Tuesday, February 25th at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church. The Rev. Margaret E. Lewis, Pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to attend. Donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children. www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org

my friend ellie im so very sorry to learn of carls passing we were the best of friends you and i many years ago carl as well i am not far from you if i can help you in any way please let me know im in raymond now married but never to far for frends .

I will miss you my uncle skippy rip i alway had a good time seeing you all my family playing Cribbage with you was alway fun and you was so hard to beat I will alway love you and you will be in my heart for ever Rest In Peace skip I miss watching basketball with you too when I was down there
