    Robert John Lang, 97, of Nashua, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 23, 2020.  

    A resident of Nashua since 1964, he was born in Utica, New York on January 25, 1923, a son of the late John G. and Margaret C. (Lanz) Lang. After graduating from high school, Robert earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as a Medic in the South Pacific, New Caledonia, Guadalcanal and Bougainville from 1942 to 1944 and held the rank of Pharmacist Mate.   

    Mr. Lang was a Registered Nurse and was employed with the United States Air Force as an industrial logistics engineer for twenty-five years. During his career he resided in Whittier and Redlands, California and Rome, NY.

    Robert held memberships in the Knights of Columbus and the Disabled American Veterans.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Elinor (Adey) Lang, whom he married on March 11, 1943 and shared 65 years together until her passing on August 3, 2008.

    Members of his family include his wife, Martha V. “Marti” (Covey) Lang, whom he married on September 17, 2009; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharen A. and Al Lentsch of Goffstown, NH; two grandchildren, Ryan Lentsch and his wife, JaNeen of Weare, NH, and Scott Lentsch of Goffstown, NH; two great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Dwight Lentsch of Weare, NH; a brother, Richard Lang; a sister, Joan Schwertfager; also survived by Marti’s three sons, Herbert, Jonathan and Daniel Covey; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Boucher.

     Mr. Lang will be buried at Rome Cemetery in Rome, New York next to his first wife Jean. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. www.farwellfuneralservice.com
