Walter P. Losik, 88, of Nashua, passed away early Saturday morning, July 18, 2020 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of this city, he was born on November 9, 1931, the second son of Josephine (Krupa) and Walter Losik. Walter attended local schools and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1949. An Air Force veteran, Mr. Losik served his country during the Korean War from 1949 to 1953, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He was employed at the former Doehla Greeting Card Company and then worked at Digital Equipment Corporation, retiring in 1992.
By his own admission, Walter’s greatest loves were sports and flying. As a young man, he played baseball, football, softball, volleyball and tennis. He was a member of the Green Meadow Golf and Country Club and golfed there for many years. Walter held a commercial pilot’s license and was a member of the Nashua Skydivers, participating as a pilot and a jumper. He spent many hours in the air for the joy it brought him. He also loved to travel, the highlight being his trip around the world with Globus Tours.
Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brother, Chester J. Losik, who passed away in 2016.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Losik of Nashua; his cousin, Bobbi (McCuskie) Decker of California; and several other cousins.
Walter will be sadly missed by all of his friends at the Nashua Airport and Green Meadow Golf Club, as well as members of the Duval family, with whom he shared a very special friendship.
The Duval’s would like to express their gratitude to the outstanding staff at Fairview Rehabilitation for the kind and compassionate care extended to Walter during his stay.
