Wendy Elizabeth (Weisse) Burbine, RN, 55 of Manchester, NH, formerly of North Reading, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday evening October 24, 2020 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a long and valiant battle against breast cancer.

Wendy enjoyed a successful 30 year career as a Registered Nurse at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Elliott Hospital in Manchester, and Parkland Medical Center in Derry.  At Parkland she was a highly regarded labor and delivery nurse, and began working on her Nurse Practitioner degree before falling ill.

Wendy’s greatest joy in life was her role as mother to her three children, with whom she enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, bowling and attending King Richard’s Faire in Carver MA every year.

She is survived by her devoted partner, Darren Starr and three children: Michael, Harry, and Victoria Burbine; her sister Susan Powers-Fitzpatrick (Sean); her brother Steven Weisse (Carol) and nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours, and a private graveside service will be held for her family.  A virtual service will be held online at a later date.

Wendy just popped in my head today. I thought that I would look up her name. And there it was in the obituaries This makes me so beyond sad. She was way too young and her kids shouldn't have lost their mom this soon. The last time I saw, and talked to her was at her neighbor's wake. Who was a life long friend of mine. My heart broke as we spoke. She knew that would probably be the last time I would see her. She has wonderful kids, and my heart goes out to them. 💖 I had the honor of working with her children in elementary school and being a friend of Wendy's. I'd give anything to change places. She was an amazing person with so many gifts. The world is a sadder place, 😔with the loss, of this beautiful person.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I live 2 doors down, Wendy and I messaged occasionally and spoke about getting together after COVID. I had the privilege of speaking with her one day and we went over our cancer stories, she had quite the story and her positivity AMAZED me, I lost my Mom from Cancer and another close family member and we had a good lil cry about it all. I could also tell what an AMAZING Mom she is as she text me in a panic one day needing a ride to one of her children's concerts as school, I was happy and honored to oblige as I too am a Mom know how important it is to be there for those special events for our children. I looked forward to sitting down with her again to talk about how she beat CANCER, so very saddened to hear of her loss but happy she too is now at peace, Heaven gained a special Angel. See you some day Wendy Rest Easy.

Wendy shone with such a beautiful and loving light. Her smile was like the sun, warm and filled with love. I learned how to be a better nurse and person because of her. I will never forget her heart, her love for her children, or for her work.

Although the years passed between our visits I always kept you & the kids in my heart. Our friendship blossomed from weird circumstances but I loved you nevertheless. I will always cherish how you regarded Andrew as one of your own. Fly high and rest easy Wendy. Your legacy will live on through your kids ❤️
