Hon. Nancy J. Elliott, 69, of Merrimack, a former NH State Representative, passed peacefully into the arms of her precious Lord on Wednesday morning, October 20, 2021 after a brief illness. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Glen D. Elliott.
A resident of Merrimack for the past 32 years, she was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 18, 1952, daughter of Kertland and the late Georgia E. (Gregory) Black. Nancy grew up in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Tynsborough High School Class of 1970.
As a young girl, she received Christ as her Savior during Vacation Bible School at Trinity Baptist Church of Nashua. She dedicated much of her life to teaching boys and girls about Jesus. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Merrimack, especially at VBS time.
Nancy ran for the NH House of Representatives in District 19 in 2004 and served three terms on the Judiciary Committee. She became a fierce advocate for the vulnerable, disabled, and elderly regarding euthanasia and assisted suicide.
Following this, Nancy spent more than a decade speaking, writing, and testifying across the country and the world on behalf of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition.
Nancy owned and operated Elliott Controls, Inc. with the assistance of her family and dedicated coworkers.
Members of her family include her children, Christine Peters and her husband David, Elisabeth Williams and her husband David, and Daniel Elliott and his partner, Teresa; grandchildren Jonathan, Joshua, Abigail, Madeline, Andrew, Chloe, Josiah, Isabella, Katherine, Jubilee, Michaela, Ethan, Anna, Matthew, Hannah, Nathan; three brothers, Gregory Black, Jeff Black, and the late Christopher Black.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, October 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the First Church of Merrimack, 7 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock, with visiting at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at North Cemetery, Silver Lake Road, Hollis, NH.
