Barbara was my schoolmate at Webster School through Alvirne High School class 1955. Our class reunions were fun to review past fun times. Years passed too quickly. Sincere sympathies to Billy, Mike and loving family. Diane (Dede Brown) Gendron Alvirne High 1955

I worked with Barbara in the Matthew Thornton days in Orthopedics being a part of the surgery department. There was no one who was a harder, more dedicated worker than Barbara. She kept everything running as smooth as humanly possible. She truly was one of a kind. We were lucky and grateful to have her for so many years. My condolences to you.

For many years, early in my career, Barbara and I worked together. We were a team. Maybe like two oxen pulling a cart together, one not able to pull by himself, but as a team able to get the job done. Her title was my assistant but all knew that it was really she who was running our endeavor. Once I realized that she would direct our efforts my life became easier, our patients did better and there was order in our world. So many years together, so many shared experiences. The joys and mishaps of teenage children. My dog Sam seemed happier when with her and Herman. For her fiftieth birthday the fire engines came. She was “mom” to so many of the force. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was a unique person.

My deepest sympathy to Barbara’s family and friends. Barbara was the sweetest next door neighbor and a spitfire. I thank her for her years of nursing service and for always being so sweet. She’s with Herman now discussing who will be in charge of the sunflowers in the spring 🌻
