Robert Harold Foster, 80, of Nashua, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital, after a period of declining health. His immediate family was by his side.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 17, 1941, he was a son of the late George and Ida E. (Barron) Foster. During his youth, Bob grew up in Ellsworth, Maine and was a graduate of The Ellsworth High School Senior Class of 1959, where he participated in many clubs including Band, Chorus and Drama. He served faithfully his entire life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was an elder with the congregation since 1972.

Bob was a man of many talents who worked a variety of occupations including being an EMT and radio announcer, working at radio stations in Maine and later in Peterborough, NH. He also was employed at Teradyne, Inc. of Nashua for several years. Bob also coordinated training and videography for the State of New Hampshire Office of Emergency Management.

In his leisure time, Bob was active with the Nashua Theater Guild, where he directed Shakespeare in the Park, as well as composed musical scores for several plays. I just learned today of Bob’s passing. He was like a father to me during my youth. He cared deeply for those he loved and it was evident in every interaction you had with him. I will never forget the sound of his voice and his kind words. My condolences to Melody and the rest of the family.

I wished I had known he had died. I’m just learning of this right now. October 22, 2022. My sincere condolences to faith, Mike and melody. Unfortunately I had also just learned that Mike had been killed in a car accident. Very sorry to hear this tragic news. They were always good to me. Always showed respect, and got respect in return. Love them

Though it has been some years since Bob and I were in touch, I remember him very fondly from productions through the Nashua Theater Guild. He was a joyful man and a fine director. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

"He always had a twinkle in his eye, a listening ear, and an open heart." That is so true of Bob, and I cherished his ability to be the calm in a storm. I hope any who knew him are comforted by the hope that Bob had in the living God Jehovah. I look forward to the time when he and I can ruminate over things grand and small. Kathy and I are praying Jehovah's blessings and comfort on all who knew and loved him.

In my New Hampshire days, I worked with Bob in the entertainment industry. Although I didn't have the pleasure of working with him for an extended period of time I remember his love for music and dedication to teaching others. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Our hearts go out to Bob's family for the loss of such a genuine human being. Bob often went out of his way to offer help to friends in need of a listening ear whenever he could, even if he wasn't feeling well. We'll always treasure Bob's understanding nature, patience and warmth. --Job 14:7, 14, 15

I absolutely Love this man. He was such an influence to me as an artist and performer. He made me feel safe and comfortable, was easy to talk to, and was just a genuinely good human who cared more about others than himself. What a sweet man!

Dear Faithe, Michael and Melodie, I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great director, a great actor, but more than that he was a great man and a dear friend. He and I spoke recently after a couple of years without contact. We chatted easily and, as old friends do, like we had seen each other the day before. I treasure that conversation and all of the wonderful times I was blessed to spend with him. I will be in prayer for you during this time of grieving. I will miss him terribly.

I am so saddened by your loss, Faithe, Michael and Melodie. I have so many memories of Bob and they are cascading through my mind as I write this. Blessings to you and your family and I agree with Nancy; those four will be putting on quite a show and I am anxious to see it. I know your hearts are breaking and so is mine. Love to all of you.

I am so sorry Faithe, Michael, and Melodie. Bob was a wonderful man and both my husband Mark and I loved working with him. We frequently talked about what a great experience it was doing Anne of Green Gables under his direction so many years ago. Maybe he, Mark, Kevin Riley, and Neal Blaiklock will create a wonderful show in Heaven and show it to us in our dreams!
