JoAnn S. Worth, 87, of Litchfield, widow of John W. Worth, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday morning, January 31, 2022 after a brief illness.

A resident of Litchfield since the late 1950s, Mrs. Worth was born in Nashua on August 28, 1934, the youngest daughter of the late George E. and Myrtie (Lawrence) Marshall.

JoAnn was educated in local schools and attended Nashua High School. In addition to raising her family, she had been employed in the office of Market Basket at the South Nashua and Somerset Stores for over 30 years.

JoAnn and John were married December 6, 1953 and shared 40 years together until his passing on January 8, 1994. They enjoyed spending time at their camp on Island Pond in Stoddard. JoAnn loved to go on drives, and her grandchildren treasure the memories they have of swimming at camp, playing cards, and taking week-long trips to the White Mountains in the summer.

Members of her family include her sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce J. Worth of Litchfield and William and Ronna Worth of Amherst; five grandchildren, Jocelyn Leroux, Travis (Jennifer) Worth, Cody Worth, Johnna (Jeff) Brown and Marshall (Nicole) Worth; six great-grandchildren, Madeline, Cassidy, Lincoln, Cole, Sean and Liam; a great-great-grandchild, Parker; two sisters, Myrtie M. Burton of Hudson and Alice A. LeClaire of Florida; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, JoAnn was also predeceased by her brothers, George E. Marshall, Lawrence Marshall, and Harry E. Marshall; her sister, Dorothy R. Dube; and brother-in-law, Paul Burton.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Bedford, Robby Rollinsworth, Kim Wilkie, and especially Carla Anger for lovingly caring for JoAnn the past few weeks.

HER  GRAVESIDE SERVICE  will take place on Friday morning, May 6th at 11 o’clock at WEST VIEW CEMETERY,  Burnham Road in Hudson. Aunt Jo was a wonderful mentor to me. She was fun to be around she never forgot my birthday. She tried to call on her friends and family daily. Aunt Jo was a bonus Mom to me and my family. She will never be forgotten 💕🙏
