Lois May Duffina, 86, of Nashua and formerly of Merrimack for many years, wife of Harry F. Duffina, passed away Saturday morning, April 16, 2022 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Duffina was born in Proctor, Vermont on April 9, 1936, a daughter of the late Peter and Violet (LaPan) Fredette. Lois moved to Nashua at an early age and was educated in the Nashua School System. In addition to raising her family, she was employed at Hampshire Manufacturing in Nashua, Centronics in Hudson and later worked as a lunch lady at a Florida school.
Lois and her husband Harry, also made their home in Bradenton, Florida for many years before returning to Nashua. In her leisure time, she loved shopping with her sister Charlotte Trudel, spending time with her family and especially loved big family gatherings.
Members of her family include her husband of 68 years, Harry F. Duffina, whom she married on November 23, 1953 at St. Christopher Church in Nashua; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly M. and Bruce McLaughlin of Nashua; a son, Brian F. Duffina and his fiancée Diana Stiegler of Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren, Stephanie Duffina, Nicole Arnold, Dakota Duffina and Joel Duffina; six great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her sisters, Charlotte M. Trudel and her husband Patrick, and Mary D. Kenna; her brothers, Frank V. Fredette Sr. and his wife Anna, and Joseph P. Fredette; and her infant granddaughter, Kattigen McLaughlin.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date. There are no formal services at this time. Donations may be made in her memory to Parkinson’s Disease Research.
