So very sorry for your loss. Ed was a very kind man and made my years working at gatewood manor a pleasure. I’m glad I got to know him and his humor.

Although I’ve only gotten to know Eddie over the last 10 years of his life, From the first day I met him he treated myself and my children as family. Although he struggled with Parkinson’s I’ve never seen him frustrated or angry and made the best of his situation. He loved to tell stories and share his past experiences with us and every one he knew. I could always tell he had a great love for his family and had one of those faces where you could see his eyes just “light” up to see them. He remained a sweet and gentle man even in his last days and will be sadly missed. I’m so grateful that for the last 10 years I have had an “Uncle Eddie” He was one of a kind and will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace Uncle Eddie

My brother Ed was a very special person who I got to know best during the past two years of his long life. Although Eddie had dealt with the debilitating disease of Parkinson’s for the past 10 years or more he never complained about it and rarely if ever even mentioned it. In the 80 years that I got to know my brother Ed I never knew him to speak a harsh or hurting word to any of his family or anyone who came in contact with him. He had a kind and gentle nature and it rarely if ever changed all the time that I knew my brother. Ed was a fun-loving person who worked hard and conscientiously at whatever work he was engaged in. in his youth Ed had a lot of good friends, especially in high school and community college, and was well-liked and admired by everyone who knew him. Eddie and his brother Phil and sister-in-law Christine spent many happy hours on their shared boat either on Lake Winnipesaukee or wherever they decided to tour in the many water-borne adventures that took them from Canada to New York City and beyond. Ed served his country in the United States Army and then went on to further his education by receiving his degree in Communication from Boston University. Ed’s best and closest friends throughout his life were his family and he always looked forward with anticipation to Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings with his family. Ed was a trendsetter in his younger days and even went so far as to introduce the family to the wonderful and exciting world of Chinese food from the South Pacific in Newton Center. Even his mother eventually grew to enjoy and appreciate the varied Oriental dishes that he would bring to Auburn Street on a Sunday night. Eddie was a very giving person and wanted to be able to share his newest passions whether it was a Gilbert and Sullivan LP or a dish of General Tsao’s Chicken. My bond and appreciation for my brother Ed grew as he continued to struggle with his health problems during the past few years. People at Greenbriar would often let me know how much they enjoyed helping and working with Eddie. Tending to his needs and health during the past two years of his life made me appreciate what kind of a brother I was truly blessed to have known. After knowing and liking Eddie for the past 82 or 83 years, I can honestly confess that I got to enjoy, love, and admire him during the final two years of our time together. A special thank you needs to be acknowledged to my brothers Phil and Frank, their wives, and families who often made sure that Eddie was constantly receiving the care and attention, and assistance that he needed during his final years. His sister-in-law Christine was also one of Ed’s mainstays who always showed her concern and gave her time and effort on his behalf so much for so long. Thanks, Chris. Eddie was a very humble, loving, and considerate person who cared and loved his family very much and will be very much missed and loved by all of them. God Bless you and keep you Eddie till we meet again.
