Margaret B. (Stallybrass) Schultz Phelan, 94, of Nashua and formerly of Hollis, died peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2023 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was the widow of Paul E. Phelan.
A native of England, Margaret was born on May 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Leslie M. and Elsie (Aspinwall) Stallybrass. Margaret immigrated to the United States as a war bride in 1946 and lived in the Niagara Falls area of New York upon arrival.
Margaret worked as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone in Sanborn, NY for many years. She then relocated her family to Medfield, MA and began a long and successful career in subscriptions at Computerworld. She moved to Hollis, NH in 1968 and resided there for 47 years. After her retirement from Computerworld, Margaret founded Enchanted Lace, a specialty retail shop where she combined her business acumen with her creativity and artistic talent. She owned and operated Enchanted Lace for 33 years, delighting many customers with a unique and pleasurable shopping experience. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and was always ready for an adventure!
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Paul E. Phelan, who died in February 2013; and her sister, Elizabeth W. Pannett of England.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Barbara G. (Schultz) Fraulini of Nashua; a son, Michael L. Schultz and his wife Julie of Nashua; four grandchildren, Michael Fraulini and his wife Amy of Ohio, Paula Fraulini and her husband Richard Noel of Nashua; Christopher Schultz and his wife Sue Lyons of Hudson and Aaron Schultz of Nashua; seven great-grandchildren, Maria and Matthew Fraulini, Tessa and Alexander Noel, Ethan, Lilliana and Skylar Schultz; a brother, Phillip R. Stallybrass of California; and brother-in-law, George Pannett of England.
