Bruce A. Boucher, 67, of Brentwood and formerly of Hudson, passed away Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born in Nashua on May 21, 1955, he is the son of Lucille H. (Stevens) Boucher and the late Roland P. Boucher. Bruce grew up in Hudson and attended the former St. John The Evangelist Parochial School and was a graduate of Alvirne High School Class of 1974. During his high school years, he played the drums with the school band and also worked at the former Hammar Hardware in Nashua.
Bruce continued working at Hammar’s , then worked for Harbor Petroleum. He later was employed in the Disc division of Nashua Corporation in Merrimack for several years before retiring due to his illness. After retirement he was able to work part-time as a driver for an auto parts business for a short period of time.
In his younger years, Bruce enjoyed shooting pool and playing softball with his neighborhood friends. His other loves were fishing with Keith, Uncle Andy and friends, golf with his Uncle Lester, spending precious time with Mike and Jeff and tending to his vegetable gardens. Bruce was an avid hometown Red Sox and Patriots fan.
A resident of Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the past nine years, Bruce, with his passion for gardening petitioned the Director and with success was provided the ability to maintain a vegetable garden for a few years, with assistance from the nursing home staff.
His family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brentwood and Rockingham VNA & Hospice of Exeter for their care, kindness and support to Bruce.
Members of his family include his mother, Lucille H. Boucher of Hudson; his sister, Deborah A. Demarais; his nephew, Keith A. Desmarais and his wife Stephanie; two grandnephews, Hudson and Barrett Desmarais; two aunts, Evelyn Poulin and Beverly Boucher; and many cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, April 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the Farwell Funeral Home, Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Family and friends are invited to attend.
