Jim was born in Manhattan on July 18, 1938 and grew up in Riverdale, New York. Despite leaving New York in his mid ‘20s, Jim was a New Yorker at heart and retained lifelong friendships with his pals from the neighborhood.
Following his graduation from Manhattan College, Jim went to medical school at the National University College Galway in Galway, Ireland and formed a life-long love of the country where he returned many times throughout his life. It was there that he started a family with his first wife, Alice J. (Griffin) and where his eldest child, John was born.
After returning to the United States, Jim and Alice had two more children, James and Shelagh. Following an Internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, Jim completed his residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Jim ultimately settled in Nashua, New Hampshire where he established a successful Urology practice serving Nashua and the surrounding communities for 50 years until his retirement in 2016.

He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jill (John); son-in-law, Peter (Shelagh); and grandchildren, Emmi, Jack and Primo, who he adored. Jim was predeceased by his father Charles; mother Vasilika, and brother Nicholas.
