Harry F. Duffina, 91, of Manchester and formerly of Nashua and Merrimack, passed away Thursday morning, June 22, 2023 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, after a period of declining health.
Born in Nashua on June 2, 1932, he was a son of the late Willmer B. and Irene J. (Bernard) Duffina. Harry was educated in Nashua schools and began his career at the Nashua Foundry, then at the Wilton Recycling Center and later as a maintenance man at the former Howard Johnson’s Restaurant and Motor Lodge in Nashua.
Harry also made his home in Bradenton, Florida for many years and worked as a maintenance man for Christian Retreat Family Church in Bradenton, FL.
In his leisure time, Harry enjoyed working on cars and the challenge of fixing anything. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking and was known for his delicious hamburger stuffing.
Harry married the love of his life, Lois May Fredette on November 23, 1953 at St. Christopher Church in Nashua. The couple shared 68 wonderful years together until her passing on April 16, 2022.
Members of his family include a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly M. and Bruce McLaughlin of Nashua; a son, Brian F. Duffina and his fiancée Diana Stiegler of Sarasota, FL; a daughter-in-law, Denise Duffina of Sarasota, FL; five grandchildren, Stephanie Duffina, Nicole Arnold and her husband Josh Arnold, Joel Duffina and his fiancée Meagan Behm and Dakota Duffina; six great-grandchildren, Aiden Prue, Kylie Prue, Cohen Huffman, Ava Kilgore, Alana Behm, and Oliver Duffina; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
One of six children, Harry was predeceased by his five siblings, Irene Duffina, Willmer J. Duffina, George Duffina, Robert Duffina and Elizabeth Corliss and her husband Robert; and his infant granddaughter, Kattigen McLaughlin.
