Glenn O. Carder, 76, of Nashua, passed away Sunday morning, November 5, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital, after a period of declining health.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on January 18, 1947, he was the only child of the late Glenn O. and Marguerite (Henshaw) Carder. During his youth, Glenn resided in New Bedford and also California, where he was educated and graduated from New Bedford High School Class of 1968. An Air Force veteran, Mr. Carder served during the Vietnam War from January 1965 until his honorable discharge in October 1968 and held the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, Glenn furthered his education at Bristol Community College, Fall River, MA where he earned an Associates Degree in science in 1975 and later attended New Hampshire College, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in materials management in 1992.
Glenn had been employed in the electronics industry for many years, where he was a Senior Expense Buyer with General Electric, Ametek, Teradyne and retired from MKS Instruments, Inc.
A resident of Nashua since 1986, he previously made his home in New Bedford and Acushnet, MA. In his leisure time, Glenn enjoyed golf and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. He held memberships in Club National, the Polish American Club and the American Legion James E. Coffey Post #3 both of Nashua.
Glenn was the husband of the late Barbara Ann (Andrade) Carder, who passed away June 9, 2017. The couple shared 50 years together.
Members of his family include three children and their spouses, Glenn P. and Eileen Carder, Jarret P. and Jessica Carder and Hollie L. and Wayne Wizboski; and twelve grandchildren, Alexander, Rachel, Jack and Jovie Carder, Tyler, Faith, Savanna and Mateo Carder, Katherine Karafelis, Alexis, Hailey and Michael Wizboski.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday, November 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. Air Force Honors and interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA Tuesday, November 28th at 11:30 a.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter, 2 Quincy Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
