Our beloved husband and father Laurence Robert “Larry” Perkins passed away surrounded by his family after a long illness on November 24, 2023 at the age of 81.
He was born in Belmont, MA on April 23, 1942. Upon his graduation from Belmont High School he immediately began working for the RCA Corporation. He would spend the rest of his career in the electronics industry; retiring after 20 years with Benchmark Electronics.
In his free time he enjoyed doing home improvements around his house and tinkering with and repairing stereo equipment and other electronics in his workshop. His detail -oriented nature and desire to see every job done properly made these pursuits a natural fit.
He is survived by his wife Susan Marie (Kellaher) Perkins to whom he was married for 57 long and happy years. He also leaves behind his children; Scott Perkins and his wife Marci and Laurie (Perkins) Lafleur and her husband Michael along with his grandchildren Kaitlyn and Madison. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Carolyn (Hines) Perkins, and sisters Mary Flanagan and Thomasina “Tommie” Nolan.
The family will only be having a private service and asks that donations be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research instead of flowers or other gifts.
