Bertha and I had a long friendship for many years from the time we drove stock cars, in the early 70s up to today belonging to our First Baptist Church. During Vacation Bible School, you would always find her in the kitchen preparing snacks and whatever was needed. We belonged to our bible study "PARTNERS IN PRAYERS right up to her last day, which she connected to us by phone. No matter how life situations were hard or she was in pain, she was always had a positive outlook on life. She was always positive. Her favorite saying was" CAN'T COMPLAIN". It brought a positive feeling to many that no matter how bad or good things were in your life, God is in control with the best is to come. There is always something better weather in life or Heaven. I know that she is still positive in her faith and love for our Lord in Glory Land. May all your memories keep you with all her positive directions and bring you joy.

I remember Ms.Ashford when she was being treated at SNHMC. I delivered her dinner on many occasions. She was the nicest person, always very friendly and had an upbeat attitude no matter how she was feeling. I will always have very fond memories of this wonderful person.

Bertha it was such an honor to call you my friend. I will miss our weekly conversations. You were always smart as a whip. Your love for animals and helping people was so admirable. ❤️ Hopefully, I will see you on the other side.
