Yvonne Rita Parent, 94, of Nashua, widow of Maurice Parent, passed away Friday afternoon, November 20, 2015 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of this city, Mrs. Parent was born on February 19, 1921, a daughter of the late Francois and Celestine (Bois) Richard. Educated in local schools, Yvonne was a graduate of the former St. Louis High School for Girls. She had been employed in the mills of the former Nashua Manufacturing Company, Sanders Associates, Inc. and Miller’s department store.
Yvonne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who helped raise her three granddaughters. She and her husband loved traveling and going to various beaches and lakes.
In addition to her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Maurice who died May 17, 1984; a sister, Alice Richard; and a brother, Gerard “Jerry” Richard.
Members of her family include her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Soucy of Nashua; three granddaughters, Kenya Plaza and her husband Aaron of Canterbury, NH, Bianca Rivera and her husband Eduardo, and Denae Soucy and her fiancé Jean Dumais all of Nashua; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Amaya and Destiny Rivera, Zachary Dumais, Kyle and Ryan Plaza.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Her funeral service and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
