Gary R. Anderson, 78, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2025 after a period of declining health.           

Born in Nashua on October 29, 1946, he was a son of the late Francis W. and Florence A. (Lecuyer) Anderson. Educated in local schools, Gary was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1964. A Marine Corps veteran, Gary served his country during the Vietnam War. 

Gary worked as a quality control inspector for several companies including Sanders Associates, BAE Systems and General Electric.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and woodworking.

Gary was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Rupprecht) Anderson, who passed away on June 26, 2016. They were married on April 4, 1970 and shared over 46 years together.

Members of his family include his four children, Pauline Anderson, Jeff Anderson and his wife Sara, Dan Anderson, and Eric Anderson and his wife Diane; six grandchildren, Nathan and his wife Andrea, Danielle and her husband Cody, Nora, Isabelle, Hadley and Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Winston and Aubrey; a brother, Glenn Anderson; three sisters, Peggy Fournier and her husband Maurice, Cindy Anderson and Kathie Standle and her husband James; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife and parents, Gary was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Anderson; and sister-in-law, Connie Anderson.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, June 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. A Graveside service and Marine Corps Funeral Honors will take place in Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street, Nashua, Wednesday morning, June 25th at 10 o’clock. Although i had only met Gary once, i have known his son, Dan, for many years. Through those years, i have become quite aware of the qualities he must have taught Dan that makes him a great man. As a parent, that is what you hope for most in life. So, Gary Anderson. Well done. You have left a wonderful mark in this world through your family.
