Maria V. Davis, 78, of Nashua, NH, wife of Charles L. Davis, passed away Monday evening, December 28, 2015 while surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness.
A resident of Nashua for the past 48 years, Mrs. Davis was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Caparco) Marchetti. She was raised and educated in Providence and was a graduate of Saint Xavier Academy.
Maria was a communicant of the former St. Casimir Church in Nashua for many years. She was a homemaker who most loved spending time with her family and also served for a time as the church secretary of Immaculate Conception Parish. Maria and her husband enjoyed traveling to Europe, The Caribbean and Las Vegas.
Members of her family include her husband Charles whom she married on August 30, 1958 and shared 57 wonderful years together; five children, Charles J. Davis and his wife Priscilla of Merrimack, NH, Catherine M. Davis and her partner Louis Bisonni of Whiting, NJ, Carolyn M. Davis and her partner Nicholas Albano of Nashua, Christopher J. Davis and his wife Laura of Nashua and Craig J. Davis and his wife Holly of Manchester, NH; nine grandchildren, Jacqueline Sedlisky and her husband Eric of Merrimack, Jonathan Davis and his wife Natalja of Manchester, Jennifer Dunn and her husband Christopher of Fountain, CO; Leo, Elliot, Maya and Benjamin Davis all of Nashua and Rosalie and Fletcher Davis of Manchester, NH, the birth of a tenth grandchild is expected in March 2016; three great-grandchildren, Aleigha Claire-Ann Dunn and Christopher Ryan Dunn Jr. of Fountain, CO and Jason Taylor Davis of Manchester; two brothers and their wives, Frank and Elissa Marchetti of Johnston, RI and Joseph and Christine Marchetti of Narragansett, RI; a sister-in-law, Betty Kellum of Arkansas City, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Third Floor South at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for their excellent care of Maria.
Family and friends are invited to the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, NH on Saturday, January 2nd from 10 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 o’clock.
