James Edward Gibson, Jr., 92, longtime resident of Nashua, NH, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 20, 2016. Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen (Ruiter) Gibson. Born in Rochester New Hampshire on February 16, 1923, he was the son of the late James and Jennie (Hamilton) Gibson.
In addition to his wife Helen, members of his family include two sons, James M. Gibson of Litchfield, NH and Shawn Gibson of Nashua; three daughters, Linda Willett and her husband Henry of Nashua; Kathleen Owen and her husband William of Reston, VA; and Luanne Nadeau and her husband Mark of Ft. Meyers, FL; as well as 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Gibson was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Ann Bedard of Hollis, NH.
Jim served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class on the USS Lardner in the South Pacific. He was employed by McLaughlin Mayflower Moving and Storage Company for many years and later by Sanders Associates. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working for Toyota of Nashua.
An avid reader, Jim enjoyed foreign travel and automobiles. He was known for his dry sense of humor.
