       Alexander R. Macie, 82, of Hudson, NH and Davenport, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, FL after a period of declining health.

      A resident of Hudson for many years, Mr. Macie was born in Irasburg, Vermont on August 21, 1933, a son of the late Victor and Florence (Gerow) Macie.  Educated in Vermont schools, “Al” served as a Corporal with the Army during the Korean War from July 1953 to June 1955.

      On June 20, 1959, Al married Judith Inez Rowe, the love of his life. They shared 48 wonderful years together until her passing on June 9, 2007. Mr. Macie had been employed as a machinist with W.H. Bagshaw Company in Nashua for over 40 years.

    In his leisure time, Al enjoyed traveling to Florida for the past 15 winters. He loved the Citrus Ridge Community, and enjoyed participating in all of the activities. Al was an avid sports fan of the New England teams, particularly the Patriots and Red Sox. Mr. Macie was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Nashua.

     Members of his family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan J. and Mark Chase and Sandra L. and Glenn Trowbridge all of Hudson; two grandchildren, Samantha Chase and Nicholas Trowbridge; a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Alice Macie of Newport, VT; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Al was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.

      Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Friday morning at 11 o’clock followed by encryptment in the Mausoleum of Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend. Donations may be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation of MA, RI, NH & VT, 814 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101. We will always remember the good times in the pool and going out to dinner with our noodle club. Will miss you but no more pain for you. You are with the Lord and Judy. Rest in peace freind.
