  Alice Therese (Silver) Morton, 87, of Milford and formerly of Nashua, widow of Charles G. “Buddy” Morton, passed away Saturday morning, May 9, 2020 at the Hackett Hill Center in Manchester, after a period of declining health.

    One of eight children, Mrs. Morton was born in Merrimack on December 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Edmond and Lucy (Cyr) Silver. She grew up in Nashua and was educated in the Nashua School System. Alice had been employed with the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company and later with Advanced Circuit Technology both in Nashua.

   Alice was an avid reader and liked the challenge of solving crossword puzzles. Earlier in her life, she enjoyed roller skating at Canobie Lake Park in Salem and the Turnpike Rollaway in Nashua. She especially loved travelling to Florida, Chicago, Illinois and California to visit family and also took a cruise to Bermuda.

    In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband Buddy, who passed away August 25, 2005; her son, Bruce Allen Morton on August 4, 1995; and her seven siblings, Edmond, Peter, Harold, Arthur, Lucy, Dolly and Dorothy.

    Members of her family include four children, Linda Smith and her husband Brian, of Milford, with whom she made her home for many years, Steven Morton and his wife Timmerie of Murrieta, CA, David Morton of Milford and Susan Wyatt and her partner Robert Tweedy of Mason; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews,  cousins and a very close friend, Therese Charest of Nashua.    

   A private graveside service will take place at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua. Donations may be made in her memory to Hackett Hill Center, 191 Hackett Hill Road, Manchester, NH 03102.  Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. www.farwellfuneralservice.com

Dave, Steve and your families - my condolences on the recent passing of your mom Alice. She was a lovely neighbor and one of the parental anchors of our old neighborhood. Heartfelt sympathies from my family and me on your loss.
