George D. Fauvel

George David Fauvel, 72, of Nashua, passed away Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 after a period of declining health.

A resident of Nashua since 1971, George was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 25, 1945, one of six children of the late George P. and Lorraine A. (Roy) Fauvel. Educated in Lowell, he attended St. Louis-de-France School and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School for Boys, Class of 1963. An Army veteran, George served during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 5 from July 12, 1965 to July 11, 1968. He was stationed in Germany and enjoyed visiting France, Italy, England and Portugal during his service time.

Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Army, George began a long career as a manager of the New Hampshire State Liquor Stores, where he worked in many of the stores throughout Southern New Hampshire.

George was an active communicant of St. Christopher Church and held membership in the Knights of Columbus. George was an avid gardener and took great pride in his beautiful flowers and landscaping at his home.

Members of his family include his two sisters and three brothers, Anne-Marie J. Siteman, Donald A. Fauvel and his wife Joan, David C. Fauvel and wife Clare, Cecile D. Stowell and Wadih Ramey and Jean-Paul G. “Jay” Fauvel and his wife Kim; his Godchildren: Jean-Paul G. Fauvel, Carrie Whitley, Felicia Fauvel and Kristie Fauvel; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Tom Siteman; and his beloved dog, Princess.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday evening, April 6th from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Claudette T. Calvetti

Calvetti, Claudette

Claudette T. (Lesage) Calvetti, 86, of Nashua, widow of Joseph J. Calvetti, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 31, 2018 at the Courville at Nashua.

A lifelong resident of Nashua, she was born on April 29, 1931, the youngest daughter of the late Romeo and Irene (Vallee) Lesage. Claudette attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1949.

Claudette met her husband-to-be at Nashua Corporation and spent 55 wonderful years with Joe while raising three children. Deborah Calvetti of Nashua, Sandra Lones and her husband Mark of Milford and James Calvetti of Townsend, MA; two granddaughters, Amanda and Meghan Lones of Milford; a sister, Lucille Dobrowolski of Florida; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Claudette was predeceased by her husband Joe, who passed away May 15, 2017; and her eldest sister, Gloria Plourde.

She loved music, reading, volunteer work and spending time with family and friends, whom she managed to always put first. Claudette will always be remembered for her quiet smile and calming demeanor. Her last few years were spent at the Courville at Nashua where dedicated nurses and aides treated her like one of their own, a kindness that was truly appreciated.

Clarence W. “Bill” Haight, Jr.

Clarence William “Bill” Haight, Jr., 87, of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, March 26, 2018 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

Born in Nashua on January 19, 1931, he was a son of the late Clarence W. and Mary (Hopwood) Haight. Bill grew up in Litchfield and attended local schools. An Air Force veteran, he served his country during the Korean War from December 1951 to December 1955.

Mr. Haight was employed with the United States Postal Service as Letter Carrier #1 at the Hudson Post Office for 31 years. He was also a licensed realtor in Hudson for a time.

Bill was a longtime member and past president of the Hudson Lions Club and was an active committee member of Boy Scout Troop 20 of Hudson. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed traveling with his wife “Fran” in their RV throughout the USA, Alaska and Canada.

Members of his family include his wife of 58 years, Frances A. (Wright) Haight, whom he married at Alvirne Chapel on June 28, 1959; a son, Randall William Haight and his wife Joanne of Sandwich, NH; a daughter, Debbie Lou Vitulli and her husband Joseph of Milford; three grandchildren, Emilie and Alison Haight and Andrew Joseph Vitulli; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sisters, Marion MacQuesten and Barbara M. Rodgers.

Eugene T. Doherty

Master Sergeant Eugene Thomas Doherty, US Army (ret), 85, of Nashua, husband of Della Y. (Soucy) Crawford Doherty, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2018 at the Crestwood Healthcare in Milford, after a period of declining health.

A resident of this city for the past 48 years, he was born in Newton, Massachusetts on July 24, 1932, a son of the late M. Ambrose and Ida M. (Stephansky) Doherty.
Fondly known as “Sarge” by his family and friends, enlisted in the Army in April of 1950 and began a twenty-year career serving his country through the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring as a Master Sergeant in June of 1970. After his military career, Sarge established his construction business and snow removal service that he owned and operated until his retirement in 2001.

An active communicant of St. Patrick Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Men of Saint Joseph. Mr. Doherty had also been a communicant of St. Christopher Church, where he was an Altar server, Eucharistic Minister and member of the choir. He was also active with the Legion of a Thousand Men at the Monastery of The Precious Blood in Manchester; a member of St. Kathryn’s Intercessory Prayer Group in Hudson; and the Rivier Prayer Community in Nashua.

Sarge was a member of the Nashua Senior Activity Center where he performed with the Silver-Lining Chorus and was a member of the Hudson Senior Center and was an avid Line Dancer at both senior centers. Both Eugene and his wife Della were presented “The President’s Volunteer Service Award for their many hours of volunteer services. (over four thousand hours). He held memberships in several military organizations including the Disabled American Veterans; Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 992; The First Infantry Division Society; the 26th Infantry Regiment (Blue Spaders); the 28th Infantry Brigade (Black Lions); and the Non-Commissioned Officers Association.

He loved Deep Sea Fishing and enjoyed going out at least once a week to different places along the coast. In addition to his parents, Sarge was predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Hildegard H. (Mahler) Doherty, who passed away January 5, 2001; two brothers, Paul F. Doherty and Matthew A. Doherty Jr.; and his sister, Patricia Ann Kelly.

Members of his family include his wife, Della, whom he married on September 29, 2001; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Annette Crawford of Litchfield; granddaughter, Nicole (Crawford) Zelli and her husband Tony of Louisville, KY; also five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joseph Kelly of South Yarmouth, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: The family will receive friends at St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Tuesday evening, March 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the church at 7 o’clock. Helen (Lynn) A. Holt of Nashua, passed away on March 22, 2018.

She was born on March 11, 1930, daughter of the late Harold A. and Helen J. (Tuttle) Hardy of Lowell MA. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1948 and is an alumnus of Westbrook College in Portland ME.

She was predeceased by her daughter Linda A. Holt of Brookline NH and grandson Eric H. Holt of Lancaster OH. She leaves her husband Richard; her sons, Attorney William J. Holt and his wife Sally of Lancaster OH, Richard H. Holt and his wife Jodi of Milford NH, Douglas S. Holt and his wife June of Davenport FL and a daughter Cathy A. Holt of Nashua; along with six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

H. Robert Weisman

WEISMAN, H. ROBERT

H Robert Weisman, a life time resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by family.

Bob was born in March 11, 1921 at St. Joseph Hospital. The son of the late Joseph and Esther (Russell) Weisman, he grew up in the French Hill neighborhood of Nashua before joining the Marine Corps in 1942. Bob’s assault unit was part of Operation Cherry Blossom which as the amphibious invasion of Bougainville to capture major enemy air bases and finish the Solomon Islands campaign in 1944 during World War 2. Bob was discharged in1945 as a corporal. After returning to Nashua, he attended the University of New Hampshire on the GI Bill and graduated in 1949.

In 1947, he married his beloved wife, Beatrice (Pombrio) Weisman who predeceased him in 2006. He is survived by daughters Dian Miller and her husband, Mark of The Villages, FL and Christine Gagnon and her husband, William, of Nashua, and 4 grandchildren, Shawn Gagnon and his wife Ashley, Sara Gagnon, Jennifer Gagnon and Jason Gagnon, all of Nashua; also many nieces and nephews Bob was predeceased by his five siblings, Philip Weisman, Max Weisman, Mary Kessler, Lena Weisman and Bessie Weisman.

Bob’s success in the insurance industry was remarkable having started with Phoenix Life Insurance Company in 1949. He was a charter member of the Phoenix Hall of Fame, established in 1971 and was the company leader in 1971 and among the Top Ten leaders for more than 5 years. Bob was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table and served his industry as President of the Nashua Association of Life Underwriters and was also the Secretary/Treasurer of the NH Association of Life Underwriters which honored Bob as their Life Underwriter of the year in 1989.

The founding partner of Weisman, Tessier, Lambert & Halloran, Bob was very proud that the firm continues to flourish 33 years after forming his partnership with Tom Tessier in 1985 and he would have celebrated his 70th year in the business next year. Bob has always credited his success in the insurance business to his wife, Bea, for her unfailing support and his clients many of whom were his closest friends.

Bob will be remembered in the Greater Nashua community for his generosity to many organizations, but notable among them were St. Joseph Hospital where he served on the Board of Trustees for over 20 years including three years as the Chairperson from 1991 – 1994. He also was a long-time member of Rivier University’s Board of Trustees for over 20 years and received an Honorary Doctorate degree in 1994.

In 2013, the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce named Bob “Citizen of the Year” for his contributions and influence on many organizations in the greater Nashua community. In addition to his service to St. Joseph Hospital and River University, he also served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army, the board of the Red Cross and the Heart Fund.

A devoted family man, Bob loved time with his family, especially his grandchildren and spending time with his friends at The Huntington at Nashua. He was an avid reader of historical books, enjoyed horseback riding, and was a Boston sports fan. Bob’s distinctive style and humility will be remembered by all who know him. His love of cowboy hats and boots and his great sense of humor, were only a few qualities that made Bob unique among his peers. He was loved and treasured and will be greatly missed.

A service was held at Temple Beth Abraham, 4 Raymond Street, Nashua on Friday, March 16, 2018. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Bea and H. June Joanne Charron, 82, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018.

Miss Charron was born in Nashua on June 30, 1935, the only child of the late Henry and Vivian (Carter) Charron. She was educated in Nashua schools and graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School, Class of 1953.

June was employed in the electronics and shoe manufacturing industries for a time and later worked as a waitress and bartender at the former Lenny’s Spa on Water Street in Nashua for twenty- six years. She is survived by cousins, including “Cooky” Enger and her husband Steve of Tewksbury, MA.

Joyce Carolyn Holloran, 76, of The Villages, Florida and formerly of Nashua, wife of William J. Holloran, passed away unexpectedly in the loving arms of her husband, Monday, March 12, 2018 at The UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida after a brief illness.

Born in Nashua on October 29, 1941, Joyce was the daughter of the late Phyllis (DeLoria) Moher and William Russell Moher. Educated in local schools, Joyce was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary, Class of 1960.

Joyce had been employed as a Para-professional with the Nashua School District for several years, working at both Elm Street Junior High School and Birch Hill Elementary School.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Joyce enjoyed shopping, golf, attending shows, and traveling with her husband to many places including Ireland, the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii to name a few.

Members of her family include her husband Bill, whom she shared over 56 years of marriage with. Her four children and their families, Michael Holloran and his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Katherine of Nashua, NH; Patrick Holloran and his wife Betty Anne and their daughters Erin and Bridget of Ashland, NH; Timothy Holloran and his wife JoAnn and their son Maximilian of San Antonio, TX; Daughter, Kerry Jean Holloran of Manchester, NH; her brother, James Moher; her brother-in-law, Robert Holloran and his wife Margaret of Nashua, NH; her sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Dow and her husband James of Dunstable, MA and Eleanor Holloran of Lowell, MA. Joyce is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Theresa Elsie (Coulombe) Coutermarsh, 85, of Nashua, wife of Leo H. Coutermarsh, passed away peacefully, surrounded by many of her children and her beloved husband at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Born in Nashua, NH, Theresa was the daughter of the late Joseph Coulombe and Jeanette (Martin) Coulombe Cloutier. Educated in Nashua schools, Theresa also received a cap as a Nurse’s Aide at Memorial Hospital. She was a waitress at the former Green Ridge Turkey Farm Restaurant for 30 years and later worked as a manager at McDonald’s in South Nashua. Theresa taught CCD at St. Patrick Church and was a longtime member and Past President (1993-1994) of the Nashua Emblem Club #170 and a member of RSVP.

Members of Theresa’s family include her husband of 67 years, Leo H. Coutermarsh; her sons, Richard Coutermarsh and his wife Karen of Brookline, NH, Randall Coutermarsh and his wife Renee of Buford, GA and Lawrence Coutermarsh and his wife Reba of North Pole, Alaska; her daughters, Sandra Schnell and her husband Alan of Gadsden, Alabama, Cathy Fortin and her husband Brian of Hudson, MA and Karen Fahel and her husband Leigh of Manchester, NH; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 godchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Elizabeth Coulombe of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was predeceased by a son, Peter Coutermarsh; and a sister, Doris Crooker.

Theresa will be remembered as fun, caring, loving and generous by all of her family and friends; always up for a lunch date or bargain shopping excursion. She will be a sorely missed mom and grandma/memere.

Donald A. Chartier

CHARTIER, DONALD A.

Donald A. Chartier, 93, of Nashua passed away peacefully on Thursday March 8, 2018 surrounded by members of his loving family. Donald was born on August 6, 1924 in Milford, NH, son of the late George and Vileta (Nelson) Chartier, and later, step-son of Frederick Selchow.

After graduating from Milford High School, Donald served as a paratrooper in the Army Aircorp during WWll, where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. While there, he also took voice lessons from a renowned opera singer at the time and taught skiing lessons to his fellow troops. When the war was over and Donald returned home, he put his athletic talent to work and became a left-handed pitcher for the 1946 Nashua Dodgers, a farm team of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He later worked for and retired from Nashua Corp as a lab technician.

It was at Holman Stadium in Nashua, while playing baseball that he met the love of his life, Lucille McKay, who he is survived by. During baseball games, while Lucille was watching from the stands, he would ask her from the dugout what time it was, and she would happily tell him. The rest is history for the two of them. They married in 1947 and shared 70 wonderful years together as husband and wife. They were able to renew their wedding vows in November, during a very touching ceremony. They lived in Nashua, NH and raised their family here.

In addition to his beloved wife Lucille, members of his family include his daughter Judith Falkowski and her husband Steve, of Merrimack; son Jeff Chartier and his wife Judith, of N. Andover, MA; and son Steve Chartier and his wife Judy, of Nashua. Donald was also a dear grandfather to his grandchildren Colyn Belter and her husband Mark of Merrimack; Erinn Falkowski of Milford; John, Joseph, and Jess Chartier of N. Andover; Nathan Chartier and his wife Adrienne of Methuen; Jeremy Chartier and his wife Marika of New Boston; and Amanda Chartier and her fiancé Nathan; as well as great- grandchildren Abygail and Jackson Forbes of Merrimack; and Grace and Faith Chartier of Methuen. Donald also had many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister Vileta Chase; brother, Robert Chartier; daughter in law Michele “Shelly” Chartier; and grandson Ryan Falkowski.

Donald has always lived a very active life and was involved in almost every sport at one time or another including skiing, tennis, squash, archery, bowling, football, baseball, and golf (which he continued to play until he was 88 years old!) He loved to be outdoors and he loved to keep busy. He went on several trips to Ireland and Scotland to play golf and has skied all over the world. He ran the Ski Patrol at the former Temple Mountain Ski Area in Peterborough, NH, for many years. Donald will always be remembered as a strong, hardworking man who was always on the go! He never complained, and although he was a man of few words, he was always quick with his wit! Donald was a great friend and he loved time spent with his family, who will miss him dearly. He was kind and loved animals, especially his precious Golden Doodle, Bonnie.

Arthur J. Lopes

LOPES, ARTHUR J.

Arthur J. Lopes peacefully entered eternal life when he was released into God’s Hands, surrounded by his loved ones at home, on Monday, March 5, 2018. Anyone who crossed his path was blessed by his kind heart, loving spirit, generous nature, and devotion to his family and his Catholic faith.

Arthur was born in Bermuda on April 13, 1936 as the only child of the late Arthur and Francelina (DaSilva) Lopes of Bermuda and the Azores. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Rotkiewicz) Lopes for 55 years. They were married at the Holy Infant Jesus Church in Nashua, N.H. on May 19, 1962. He was the absolute best father and grandfather to Christina (Lopes) and son-in-law William Nadeau along with his favorite grandson, Bradford, of Hudson, N.H. as well as to Anne-Marie (Lopes) King and his cherished granddaughters Mahaleigh-Anne and Jessalynn King of Holly Springs, N.C. He’s also survived by several cousins in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, and England.

He graduated from Mount Saint Agnes Academy in Bermuda and continually furthered his education in the United States. He was employed for over fifteen years at Kindley Air Force Base, Bermuda in the office of Accounting and Finance. He moved to the United States with his wife and daughters in 1970 and was employed by Toyota of Nashua, N.H. as their Comptroller for over forty years.

Arthur was an avid sports fan. In his early years he played soccer, winning the FA Bermuda Cup in 1956, cricket, and golf, among others, which fostered his love of sports. He was a member of the National Sports Club as well as the Spanish Point Boat Club of Bermuda. While living in New England, he enjoyed watching the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox but he also cheered for all the NC State University and University of South Carolina teams with his Southern daughter and granddaughters. He enjoyed watching Poker tournaments, boxing matches, and playing cribbage or cards with his retired buddies.

In both sports and life, the principle of fair play and the golden rule of treating others as you would wish to be treated, was in his soul as his life’s philosophy. That is why anyone who knew Arthur couldn’t help but to love him!

Mrs. Golia was born in New York, NY on October 19, 1930 to Italian immigrants, Teofilo and Eleanora (Miele) Nava. She was raised in New York City and was a graduate of Hunter College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education.

Madeline was a longtime teacher in the public-school system in New York City, and Assistant Principal at PS31 and later a Principal at PS1 in the Bronx until she retired.
She and her husband Ralph were married in 1953 and made their home in East Chester, NY, Montauk, L.I., NY and winters in Naples, FL. The couple shared 54 years together until his passing on April 13, 2007.

Her many interests include her love of Broadway and Opera, watching old movies, writing poetry, solving crossword puzzles and was a talented artist. She was an inspiration to her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren.

Members of her family include two sons and their wives, David and Brenda Golia of Hollis, with whom she has resided since 2005; and Ralph and Lynne Golia of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Amanda Malamud and her husband Matthew, David Golia II and his wife Brieana, Daniel Golia and his wife Alicia, Megan Golia and her husband Robert Laraway, Allison Golia, Justin Golia, Sara Golia and Emily Golia; three great-grandchildren, Madeline Malamud, Lincoln Malamud and Benjamin Golia; a brother, Angelo Nava of New York; also nieces and nephews. Madeline was also predeceased by a brother, Giovanni “John” Nava.

There are no calling hours. Following cremation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Monday morning, March 12th at 11 o’clock. Rufus W. Hall, 91, of Nashua, husband of the late Pauline A. (Blanchette) Hall, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 1, 2018 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, after a period of declining health.

One of eight children of the late Albert Victor and Jessie Winnoford (Foster) Hall, he was born in Paxton, Massachusetts on February 15, 1927. Rufus moved to Hudson, NH when was young, where his family owned and operated a dairy farm. He had very fond memories of growing up on the farm in Hudson, and often told funny stories of his days on the farm.
Mr. Hall began his career in the shoe industry at the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company in Nashua where he worked for 39 years and then was employed with Sanders Associates, Inc. and their successors BAE Systems for 22 years.

In his leisure time, Rufus loved spending time with his family and enjoyed trips to Rockingham Park with friends and Bus trips to Foxwoods Casino. He was a longtime member of the Lafayette Club. His outlook on life was “Take life as it comes, one day at a time”. “Better days are coming!”

Rufus was predeceased by his wife Pauline, who passed away January 10, 2013. They were married June 24, 1950 and shared 62 years together. He was also predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Hall; his brothers, Kenneth, Jack, James, Douglas and Gilbert Hall; and a sister, Lillian Beland.

Members of his family include three sons, Roger W. Hall and his wife Pamela of Litchfield, Dennis D. Hall of Nashua and David M. Hall and his wife Kathleen McLinden of Brookline; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Hall of Conway, NC; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally Hudon of Nashua; sister-in-law, Norine Hall of Hudson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Lynn Blanchette of Nashua; also, many nieces and nephews.

Pearl Catherine Bailey, 96, of Nashua, widow of Jason C. Bailey, passed away Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at the Courville at Nashua, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 7, 1921, a daughter of the late Percival and Lottie Butterfield. Pearl grew up in Lowell and attended schools there.

Pearl and her husband Jason were married on Memorial Day in 1941 and made their home in Dunstable, MA where they raised turkeys and chickens. They moved to Nashua in 1957 and resided on Williams Street and later at Whitegate on Spit Brook Road. The couple enjoyed traveling to Florida where they resided for a few years and also spent many summers at Hampton Beach. The Bailey’s shared over 67 years together until his passing on June 29, 2008. In her leisure time, Pearl enjoyed baking, sewing and walking in downtown Nashua.

Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Jason A. and Doris Bailey of Nashua; her daughter, Sheryl C. Demers of Florida; three grandchildren, Scott Dion of California, Brian Bailey and his wife Melissa, and Marc Bailey all of Nashua; six great-grandchildren, Justin Dion, Joshua, Caleb, Kira and Nathan Bailey, and Hayley Delisle; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pearl was predeceased by her brothers, Howard, Wendell and Clifford Butterfield; and her son-in-law, Louis Demers.

Helen A. (Keniston) Caggiano, 95, passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2018 at the Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH.

Helen was born on July 9, 1922 to the late MaryJane (Duchesney) and James Keniston in Somerville, Massachusetts. She attended local schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1940. Helen then continued her education at Middlesex Community College, where she received her Associates degree. She began her career working for the Sanborn company and then its successor. Helen later went to work for Hewlett-Packard for many years.

She married the love of her life, Anthony F. Caggiano on May 27, 1961. The couple began their lives together in Woburn, MA, they then spent twelve years in Port Charlotte, Florida, and made their home in Nashua in 2001. In her free time, Helen loved to play the piano and was very interested in her family’s genealogy.

Members of her family include her husband, Anthony F. Caggiano; her children, Tony Caggiano and Helen Caggiano; and a granddaughter, Ashley Keniston. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother, Robert E. Keniston.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. E. Rita (Seaman) Shea, 96, of Nashua, widow of James D. Shea, passed away Thursday morning, February 22, 2018 at her home at Nashua Crossing, after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Shea was born in Nashua on December 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Blanche (Bonenfant) Seaman. Rita attended local schools and graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1939. Shortly after her graduation, she worked as a civil service employee in Washington, DC during World War II from 1940 to 1945.

After returning to Nashua, Rita worked in the credit office of Nashua Corporation for a time. After raising her three children, Rita returned to the work force beginning as a Teller at the former Indian Head National Bank; then as a bookkeeper for the Malone Oil Company and later at Collins Flowers, Inc.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Nashua and was a longtime member of the Ladies Guild of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. She was active with the Hudson Seniors and loved attending concerts by the Nashua Symphony. Rita especially loved spending time with her family and friends; trips to Rye Beach, NH and Disney World in Florida.

Rita and her husband “Jim” were married on October 4, 1952 and made their home on Baker Street in Hudson for a number of years. They shared 42 wonderful years together until his passing on January 16, 1995.

Members of her family include her children and their spouses, Kevin J. and Sandra Shea of Boxborough, MA, Terence M. and Diane Shea of Nashua and Kathleen A. and Albert Ahlman of Englewood, FL; two grandchildren, Amanda R. Ahlman and Benjamin J. Shea; brother-in-law, Paul Richard of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was predeceased by a brother, William Seaman; and her sisters, Mildred Manoleros and Agnes Richard.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, February 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson.
